Resident. A widespread and fairly common species, found mostly in coastal areas of Britain as far north as south-western Scotland.
First recorded in 2013 at Middletown in the east of the county.
Wingspan : M & F 14-20mm.

Favours dry and sandy places.
Various compositae flower heads.
Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva lives and feeds within the flower head. Overwinters in a cocoon and pupates in the spring.
