Resident. Widespread and locally common in southern England, very local in Wales, northern England and southern Scotland.

Montgomeryshire Status

Recorded from two sites in the west and north-east of the county.

Wingspan :   M & F, 22-25mm.

Confusion species

Paracorsia repandalis, Udea lutealis and U. fulvalis.
Flight time & Voltinity (Univoltine)

Habitat

Marshy and boggy places.

Foodplant

Common fleabane and ploughman's spikenard.

Lifestage data

Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva feeds in the heart of a shoot. Pupates in a loose cocoon amongst the leaves.
