Resident. Locally common in southern Britain as far north as the Midlands and Scotland.

Montgomeryshire Status

Recorded from a few sites in the west of the county.

Wingspan :   M & F, 24-29mm.

Habitat

Damp woodland and marshy places.

Foodplant

Winter cress.

Lifestage data

Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva feeds gregariously on the leaves, resting side by side when not feeding. Pupates in a cocoon below the soil.
