This species is likely to be very much more common than the few scattered records.
Wingspan : M & F, 13-17mm.

Ponds, bogs, lakes, slow rivers.
Canadian waterweed, stoneworts and filamentous algae.
Aquatic. Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva feeds to two metres depth in loose spinning amongst foodplant. Pupates in silken subaquatic cocoon up to a metre below surface.
