Resident. Locally common throughout England becoming more scarce in Wales and Scotland.
Recorded from a single site in the west of the county at Commins Coch.
Wingspan : M & F, 12-15mm.

Root feeder. Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva lives and feeds, sometimes gregariously, in the roots and rootstock. Pupates in a silken cocoon in larval habitation.
