Recorded from a single site in the west of the county at Commins Coch.

Wingspan :   M & F, 12-15mm.

Confusion species

D. alpinana and D. flavidorsana.

Habitat

Dry grassy places.

Foodplant

Yarrow and tansy.

Lifestage data

Root feeder. Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva lives and feeds, sometimes gregariously, in the roots and rootstock. Pupates in a silken cocoon in larval habitation.
