UK Status Resident. Widespread throughout the British Isles as far north as Ross and Cromarty, not always a common species although the foodplant is plentiful. Montgomeryshire Status Recorded from just two sites in the county. Wingspan : M & F, 9-13mm. Confusion species None. |

(Univoltine)  Habitat Gardens, open woodland and hillsides. Foodplant Hogweed. Lifestage data Spinning. Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva spins two or more seeds together and feeds within. Pupates in silken cocoon in the soil. |
