Resident. Locally common in the southern half of England, scattered records further north and in Wales.

Found at just a handful of sites in the county.

Wingspan :   M & F, 10-15mm.

Confusion species

C. molesta and C. tenebrosana.
Flight time & Voltinity (Univoltine)

Habitat

Hedgerows, orchards and gardens.

Foodplant

Plum spp.

Lifestage data

Fruit feeder. Eggs laid at the base of the fruit stalk. Larva feeds inside the fruit, especially near the stone. Pupates spun up under dead wood, bark, moss or in the soil.
