Resident. First recorded in Dover in 1943, since then it has become established throughout most of England and Wales.

Montgomeryshire Status

Recorded from two sites in the west of the county.

Wingspan :   M & F, 14-15mm.

Flight time & Voltinity (Univoltine)

Habitat

Woodland, parks and gardens.

Foodplant

Sycamore.

Lifestage data

Seed feeder. Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva lives in the seeds and feeds within. Pupates in a cocoon.
