Resident. A fairly common species found in England and Wales, but more local in the north.

Montgomeryshire Status

Discovered at Llanymynech Rocks in the north-east of the county in 2012.

Wingspan :   M & F 9-11mm.

None.
Flight time & Voltinity (Univoltine)

Habitat

Coniferous woodland.

Foodplant

Scots pine, Corsican pine.

Lifestage data

Leaf miner. Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva mines the needles, overwinters and continues to mine the following spring. Pupates in a loosely spun cocoon amongst the needles.
