Resident. Widespread throughout Britain as far north as Inverness-shire, more common and can be abundant in the south.

Recorded in the west of the county.

Wingspan :   M & F, 12-17mm.

Habitat

Open woodland, orchards & gardens.

Foodplant

Many deciduous trees and shrubs.

Lifestage data

Bud miner/spinning. Eggs laid on upper surface of leaf. Larva first feeds in fruit and leaf buds, then spins several leaves together and feeds within. Pupates in larval habitation.
