Resident. Found throughout the British Isles as far north as Sutherland but very local and uncommon.

Montgomeryshire Status

Just a single old record coming from the west of the county at Ceinws in 1980.

Wingspan :   M & F, 10-13mm.

E. tedella.

Wherever foodplant is found.

Foodplant

Silver fir.

Lifestage data

Leaf miner/spinning. Eggs laid singly on leaves. Larva first mines leaves, then constructs a neat spinning around leaves, but continues to mine the leaves within. Pupates spun up in a silken cocoon in leaf litter.
