Resident. Locally common, found mainly in the southern half of Britain as far north as Yorkshire.

Montgomeryshire Status

Found in scattered sites in the northern half of the county.

Wingspan :   M & F, 14-18mm.

Habitat

Thickets and hedgerows.

Foodplant

Hawthorn and blackthorn.

Lifestage data

Spinning/leaf roller. Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva spins one or two leaves into a tubular-shaped shelter and feeds within. Pupates in loosely spun leaves on the foodplant.
