UK Status Resident. A scarce species widely distributed throughout Britain except the north of Scotland. Montgomeryshire Status Recorded only from the area of the Cors Dyfi Nature reserve (in the extreme west of the county) in 2009 and 2010. Wingspan : M & F, 15-20mm. Confusion species A. lineana and A. semifasciana. |
Flight time & Voltinity
(Univoltine)  Habitat Woodland, wet and damp places. Foodplant Willow. Lifestage data Spinning. Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva first feeds on catkins and later in spun leaves. Pupates in white silken cocoon spun up in the foodplant leaves. |
