Resident. Widespread and common throughout the British Isles as far north as Wester Ross.

Montgomeryshire Status

A fairly common species throughout much of the county.

Wingspan :   M & F, 15-20mm.

Confusion species

A. comariana.
Flight time & Voltinity (Univoltine)

Habitat

Mainly associated with woodland.

Foodplant

Rosaceae trees and shrubs, willow and vaccinium.

Lifestage data

Spinning. Eggs laid at the base of a bud. Larva lives in spun leaves and flowers and feeds within. Pupates in a folded leaf edge of the foodplant or in larval habitation.
