An uncommon species, first recorded in 2007 at Commins Coch. Just three records for the county.

Wingspan :   M. 15-22mm. F. 17-24mm.

Confusion species

C. rurinana.
Flight time & Voltinity (Bivoltine)

Habitat

Marshes, bogs, damp woods and especially fens near the coast.

Foodplant

Many herbaceous plants.

Lifestage data

Spinning. Eggs laid in small batches on foodplant. Larva feeds in spun leaves and flowers. Pupates in a white silken cocoon in larval habitation.
