Resident. A local species found in southern half of Britain.

Montgomeryshire Status

This species was first recorded in 2017 at Llanymynech Hill in the north-east of the county.

Wingspan :   M & F 9-11.5mm.

Confusion species


Scythris piceapennis.
Flight time & Voltinity (Bivoltine.)

Habitat

Chalk and limestone grassland.

Foodplant

Common rock-rose.

Lifestage data

Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva feed in a loose web over several shoots of the plant. Pupates; not known.
