Resident. Widespread and common throughout England and Wales and south-west Scotland.
Wingspan : M & F, 14-18mm.

Ungrazed grassland, woodland rides and coastal areas.
Spinning. Eggs laid on the leaf. Larva spins a grass blade into a roll to form a spiral and feeds within, it repeats this process several times. Pupates inside a leaf roll not used for feeding.
