Restricted to a few sites in the north-east of the county and found to be fairly common at one site, Llanfyllin in the north of the county.

Wingspan :   M & F, 9-12mm.

Habitat

Woodland, heathland and scrub.

Foodplant

Birch and hazel.

Lifestage data

Spinning. Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva feeds in a spun shoot or rolled leaf. Pupates in a silken cocoon in detritus or soil.
