Resident. Widespread and local throughout much of the British isles.

Montgomeryshire Status

First recorded in 2010 at Commins Coch in the west of the county. This was only the sixth record for north Wales. Since 2010 it has also been recorded at Middletown in the far north-east of the county.

Wingspan :   M & F, 13-14mm.

Confusion species


C. alburnella.
Flight time & Voltinity (Univoltine.)

Habitat

Woodlands and scrubby areas.

Foodplant

Deciduous oak and dogwood.

Lifestage data

Eggs laid on leaf of foodplant. Larva feeds in a folded leaf. Pupation site not documented.
