Resident. Widespread and fairly common throughout Britain as far north as Co. Durham.

Montgomeryshire Status

Found in two widely separated sites in the county at Commins Coch and Llanfyllin.

Wingspan :   M & F,10-12mm.

Habitat

Woods, heaths and hillsides.

Foodplant

Bracken.

Lifestage data

Eggs, oviposition site unknown. Larva feeds on the upper part of the stem causing it to droop. Pupates in detritus or the soil.
