Resident. A common species in the eastern and southern parts of the UK, but local in the north and west.
First recorded in 2015 at Middletown in the east of the county.
Wingspan : M & F 16-20mm.
Care should be taken, other species in this group are very similar.
time & Voltinity
Waste ground, open woodland and downland.
Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva feeds internally on the seeds. Overwinters until April then pupates in situ.
