Resident. A locally common species found throughout Britain as far north as Aberdeenshire.

Montgomeryshire Status

Recorded from two widely separated sites.

Wingspan :   M & F,15-19mm.

Confusion species

A. assimilella and A. astrantiae.
Flight time & Voltinity (Univoltine)

Habitat

Damp and wet places.

Foodplant

Wild angelica, hogweed and milk parsley.

Lifestage data

Eggs, oviposition site unknown. Larva feeds, sometimes gregariously, in bunched leaves and shoots. Pupates in detritus or the soil.
