Resident. Found locally throughout most of mainland Britain.
Several very old records (1960's) from two sites in the north-east of the county.
Wingspan : M & F,14-17mm.
A. nanatella, A. propinquella and A. kuznetzovi.

Warm dry grassy areas.
Common knapweed, spear thistle, creeping thistle, melancholy thistle and burdock spp.
Leaf mining/spinning. Eggs laid on leaf. Larva initially mines, then feeds externally in web under leaf, rolling leaf downwards. Pupates in detritus or soil.
