Resident. Widespread and common throughout Britain, except the parts of Scotland where it tends to be more local.

Montgomeryshire Status

Recorded from a single site in the north of the county at Llanfyllin.

Wingspan :   M & F,17-20mm.

Confusion species

Fairly distinctive.

Lifestage data

Spinning. Eggs laid on a leaf. Larva rolls a leaf into a tube from which it feeds, sometimes it later feeds on flowers and fruits. Pupates in detritus or the soil.
