Resident. Widespread and locally common, found throughout the British Isles except the far north of Scotland.
Generally distributed throughout the county.
Wingspan : M & F, 22-25mm.

Wherever the foodplant is found.
Stem miner. Eggs oviposition site undescribed. Larva initially mines internally in the flowering stems and umbels, in the final instar it feeds externally . Pupates in a loose silken cocoon in a stem.
