UK Status Resident. A rather common species found throughout Britain. Montgomeryshire Status Discovered at Commins Coch in the west of the county in 2012. Wingspan : M & F 23-25mm. Confusion species Pleurota aristella. Also some species of grass moths, but these all have shorter palps. |
Flight time & Voltinity
(Univoltine)  Habitat Heathland and moorland. Foodplant Cross-leaved heath and bell heather. Lifestage data Spinning. Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva feeds from a silken web spun in the shoots of the foodplant. Pupation site undescribed. |
