Wingspan : M & F 7-8mm. Confusion species Many species of Elachista are extremely similar, great care should be given when separating these species. |

(Bivoltine possibly trivoltine)  Habitat Well drained open grassland, prefers calcareous ground. Foodplant Annual meadow grass. Lifestage data Leaf miner. Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva mines the leaf. Pupates in a whitish cocoon on the underside of a dead leaf. |
