Resident. A widely distributed species across much of the UK.
This species was first recorded in 2018 at Cors Dyfi Nature Reserve in the far west of the county.
Wingspan : M & F 10-13mm.
Many species of Elachista are extremely similar, great care should be given when separating these species.
time & Voltinity
Moors and heaths.
Mainly purple moor grass, but other species of grasses are use as well.
Leaf miner. Eggs laid on grass tip. Larva mines the grass blade in a downwards direction. Pupates: undescribed.
