Resident. Widespread and common throughout the British Isles.
Recorded from a handful of county sites.
Wingspan : M & F, 11-12mm.
It is often impossible to separate the adults of some species. In some cases differences can be seen in various life stages.

Leaf miner. Eggs laid on the leaf. Larva forms broad, flat transparent mine, taking up the whole width of the leaf. Pupates without a cocoon attached to a grass stem.
