Resident. A local species found in southern and eastern England and a scattered distribution in northern England and north Wales
This species was first recorded in 2015 at Middletown in the far north-east of the county.
Wingspan : M & F 10-13mm.
Care should be taken as other species of Coleophora can look very similar.

Found on wasteland, rough grassland and roadside verges.
Case-bearing. Eggs laid on flower. Larva forms a case and feeds on seeds. Pupates in case attached to a stem of the foodplant.
