Resident. Widespread but local, in Britain as far north as the Scottish borders.
Locally common in scattered sites in the north of the county.
Wingspan : M & F, 17-20mm.
|Flight time & Voltinity
Mostly in wooded areas.
Field maple and sycamore.
Spinning. Eggs laid on a twig of the foodplant. Larva feeds from a slight spinning. Pupates in a soft white cocoon in moss on the trunk, under the bark or in the leaf litter.
