Confusion species
Other species of Swammerdamia group are very similar, care should be taken. The larval mine may help with identification.

Hawthorn, blackthorn and rose spp.
Lifestage data
Leaf miner/web forming. Eggs laid on the foodplant. Larva first mines
the leaf, then feed gregariously two or three to a web. Pupates in a
white cocoon spun to a twig or leaves. |
