UK Status Resident. Widespread throughout Britain as far north as Aberdeen. Montgomeryshire Status Found from several sites across the county, probably under-recorded Wingspan : M & F, 19-26mm. Confusion species Y. padella and Y. malinellus. |
Flight time & Voltinity
(Univoltine)  Habitat Especially on calcareous soils. Foodplant Spindle. Lifestage data Shoot miner/web former. Eggs laid in a cluster of 50-100 under a protective covering on the foodplant. Larva first mines the shoot, then feed gregariously in a web. Pupates gregariously in the web. |
