Resident. Widespread and common throughout the British Isles.
Recorded from a few scattered sites across the county, very likely to be more common than the records suggest.
Wingspan : M & F, 10-12mm.

Shoot miner. Eggs laid singly under a bud scale. Larva first mines a flowering shoot, then bores into the shoot or developing fruit. Pupates in a double cocoon (one within the other) on the ground.
