Resident. Widespread and common throughout England and Wales, in Scotland as far north as Perthshire but much more local.
Recorded from a few scattered sites across the county.
Wingspan : M & F, 10-12mm.

Gardens and orchards.
Apple including cultivars.
Leaf miner. Eggs laid on a leaf. Larva forms a fine gallery which develops into a blotch, then leaves the mine, folds the edge downwards and feeds within. Pupates in a tough, oval, brown cocoon spun in leaf litter.
