Resident. Widespread and common throughout the British Isles.
Recorded from a few scattered sites across the county.
Wingspan : M & F, 9-10mm.
Many species of Parornix are very similar, care should be taken with identification.
time & Voltinity
Heathland and open woodland.
Leaf miner. Eggs laid on underside of leaf. Larva forms a gallery which develops into a blotch, then larva folds the leaf and feeds within. Pupates in an ochreous cocoon under a turned down leaf edge.
