UK Status Resident. Widespread and locally common throughout the British Isles. Montgomeryshire Status Recorded from sites either side of the county. Wingspan : M & F, 10-13mm. Confusion species None. |
Flight time & Voltinity
(Bivoltine)  Habitat Downland and rough grassland. Foodplant Ribwort plantain. Lifestage data Leaf miner. Eggs laid on underside of leaf. Larva forms a long tortuous gallery which develops into a blotch, then spinning causes the leaf to fold, feeds within. Pupates in a white cocoon spun in the mine. |
