Resident. Abundant throughout the British Isles.
Fairly common, especially on the eastern side of the county.
Wingspan : M & F, 10-13mm.

Woodlands and gardens.
Privet, ash and lilac.
Leaf miner. Eggs laid along midrib of leaf. Larva forms a narrow gallery which develops into a blotch, then a cone is formed from which they feed within. Pupates in a whitish cocoon spun under the leaf or in the litter.
