Resident. Widely distributed and often common in mainland Britain.
Fairly common, records from across the county.
Wingspan : M & F, 17-21mm.
Care should be taken, all species of Nematopogon are very similar.
|Flight time & Voltinity
Mainly a woodland species.
Case-bearing. Eggs probably laid on the stems of herbaceous plants. Larva forms a portable case from which it will feed from soil particles or dead leaves. Pupa formed inside the case.
