A fairly common species found throughout the county.
Wingspan : M & F, 28-36mm.
Broadleaf woodland, carr, marshes, scrub, and gardens.
The catkins of sallows and poplars and later on herbaceous plants.
Overwinters as eggs laid in rows on twigs of foodplant. Larva late Mar-early June, feed inside catkins until they fall. Pupates underground.
