Habitat

Broadleaf woodland, scrub, hedgerows and other well wooded areas including gardens.

Foodplant

Hawthorn, blackthorn, crab apple, dog rose, plum, and rowan.

Lifestage data

Overwinters as egg (laid on twigs or bark of foodplant). Larva Apr-June. Pupates in underground cocoon.
