A 'Nationally Scarce B' species. This rare species hasn't been seen in the county since 1944 in Newtown. Probably extinct.

Habitat

Moorland, open woodland and upland scrub.

Foodplant

A wide range of herbaceous plants.

Lifestage data

Overwinters as an adult, mating in the spring. Larva May-July, feeding both day and night. Pupates in a cocoon in the debris.
