A common species, especially at higher altitudes. Found throughout the county.

Wingspan :  M & F, 27-32mm.

None.


Flight time (Montgomeryshire)

Habitat

Grassland in open country, moorland and downland.

Foodplant

Hard grasses including, mat-grass, sheep's-fescue and purple moor-grass. Also found on sedges and rushes.

Lifestage data

Overwinters as eggs which are scattered over grassland by female when in flight. Larva March-June.
