Wingspan :  M & F, 38-50mm.

A range of fairly open and wooded places, including gardens.

Foodplant

A range of wild and cultivated herbaceous and woody plants.

Lifestage data

Overwinters as a pupa in an underground cocoon. Larva August-October, feeding by day and night.
