A 'Red Data Book' species. Only found on the extreme western edge of the county where the foodplant is present.
Wingspan : M & F, 36-40mm.
Purple Clay and Ingrailed Clay.
Bogs and mires.
Overwinters as a larva. Larva late August-mid June, feeding throughout the winter in mild weather. Pupates in a loose silken cocoon amongst the moss or litter.
