An uncommon and local species that is mostly found in the western side of the county.
Wingspan : M & F, 34-42mm.
Moorland, downland, heathland, open woodland and scrubby places.
Many herbaceous plants.
Overwinters as a half grown larva. Larva July-early May. Pupates in a cocoon formed in the plant stems.
