A local species which first colonised south east England and has since spread north to Yorkshire and to Dorset in the west.

Montgomeryshire Status

Resident. First recorded at Llandinam in the south of the county in 2020.

Wingspan :   M & F, 35-41mm.

Habitat

Conifer plantations, wooded heathland.

Scots Pine, occasionally Norway spruce & Cedar-of-Lebanon

Lifestage data

Overwinters as a pupa, under the soil. Larva, late June - mid September.
