Habitat

Open woodland, downland, hedgerows, gardens, fens and coastal scrub.

Foodplant

Wild and garden privet, ash and lilac.

Lifestage data

Overwinters, occasionally twice, as a pupa, up to a depth of 30cm. Larva July-September.
