Wingspan :  M & F, 36-42mm.

Habitat

Mostly broadleaf woodland, but also found in scrub, hedgerows, parks and gardens.

Foodplant

Garden privet, lilac and winter jasmine.

Lifestage data

Overwinters as a pupa in a cocoon on the foodplant. Larva early June-mid September.
