Habitat

Mature oak woodland and hedgerows.

Foodplant

Mainly oak, also found on hawthorn, silver birch, hazel, elm, hornbeam and sweet chestnut.

Lifestage data

Overwinters as a pupa underground. Larva late April-mid June.
